In the 1930s, the Mercedes-Benz Lo2750 was the medium-weight series in the Mercedes-Benz truck range. After Mercedes-Benz started, in 1934, to compete in grand-prix racing with its newly designed Silver Arrows, transport vehicles and workshop trucks were needed to make it relatively easy to reach the European race circuits like Monza, Donington Park, Monaco or the Nürburgring. Painted in the typical blue of the Mercedes-Benz Racing Department, the factory operated a whole fleet of lorries that toured from race to race. As well as flat-bed trucks transporting the Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows types W25, W125, W154 and W165, well hidden under their pale coloured tarpaulins, the Racing Department had two workshop trucks in which any repairs and technical work required at the track could be carried out. The various racing transporters of the Mercedes-Benz Racing Department have now become an abiding part of motor racing history and Schuco dedicates high-quality and painstakingly detailed models to a scale of 1:43 to the two representatives of the 1930s.   Attention ! Ne convient pas aux enfants de moins de 14 ans.

The Cooper T51 was produced by the Cooper Car Company, which was founded by John Cooper in Surbiton, Surrey. The launch of this new vehicle heralded the beginning of the end for single-seater front-engined racing cars. Unlike previous Formula racing vehicles used by large factory teams such as Maserati, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Vanwall, which were exclusively front-engined vehicles, the T51 was the first vehicle to feature a mid-engine directly behind the driver. In 1959, in addition to the Australian driver Jack Brabham becoming the Formula 1 world champion, the Cooper factory team also won the Constructors Championship for its outstanding performance. Third place was won by Stirling Moss, who also drove a Cooper Climax T51. The world champion Jack Brabham also won the British Grand Prix in Aintree, where he drove a Cooper T51 with start number 12. Driven by a 2.5-litre Climax 4-cylinder engine, the T51 was also used at the beginning of 1960 Formula 1 season. Although it was replaced by the T52 over the course of the season, the T51 still contributed to Jack Brabham’s second consecutive victory and Cooper’s successful defence of the Constructors Championship.   Attention ! Porsche started to develop its first racing car in 1952 at its headquarters in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. This culminated in the launch of the Porsche 550 Spyder, which was based on the specs of the Porsche 356. This mid-engined car was equipped with a lightweight metal chassis and sported a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder boxer engine known as the ‘Fuhrmann’ engine. Weighing just 550 kg, the Porsche 550 Spyder helped the fledgling brand to develop its reputation as a manufacturer of lightweight, reliable and efficient sports cars. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1955, the 550 Spyder was driven by the racing duo Polenski/von Frankenberg, who came fourth overall and first in the 1500 ccm vehicle class. Due to very high demand from racing drivers and well-heeled Porsche enthusiasts from the US, the 550 Spyder soon received approval for road use and could be ordered for 24,600 German marks at Porsche dealers.   Attention ! Under the motto „Race on Sunday - Sell on Monday“, numerous so-called „Club Races“ took place in the USA in the 1950s and enjoyed great popularity among those actively involved as well as spectators. In these races, motor-sport-enthused private drivers were able to probe their driving skills and simultaneously push their mainly production-line sports cars to the limit, legally. The corresponding vehicle dealers also put on suitable transport vehicles in support of their customers‘ vehicles at race tracks like Laguna Seca, Eagle Mountain or Elkhart Lake. For example, Volkswagen and Porsche dealer „Continental Motors“ of Fort Lauderdale in Florida operated an elegant and remarkable vehicle-trailer combination, consisting of an original VW T1 tractor unit and the associated trailer. Thus vehicles such as the Porsche 550 Spyder or the Porsche 718 Spyder were able to be transported. Schuco is going to produce in a limited edition of 500 pieces a miniature model of this legendary VW T1 racing transporter to a scale of 1:18 in the PRO R line. This line, consisting of resin as the material, stands for exceptional and highly filigree small series models. By means of this highgrade model material, it is possible to produce very rare and exotic exemplary vehicles in perfect quality and also in low and exclusive production runs.   Attention !
