VW T4b Caravelle, silver, 1:18

1:18 Edition

VW T4b Caravelle, silver, 1:18

€169.95

With the launch of the Volkswagen T4 Transporter series in August 1990, the era of rear-wheel drive and rearengined VW Transporters finally came to an end. While in the predecessor T1, T2 and T3 series the engine was housed in the rear of the vehicle, the completely redesigned VW T4 now featured a transverse front engine that drove the front wheels. In particular, this had the considerable advantage that the VW Transporter, like most of its competitors, now also had a lower-lying, continuous load area. This continuous load area was an extremely important sales argument and was quickly reflected in the sales success of the T4. In addition to the purely commercial version of the Transporter which was mainly used by business customers and public agencies, the Multivan and Camping versions were particularly popular with private individuals. Thanks to a very practical and well thought-out interior, these vehicles offered a considerable degree of comfort on long journeys, were ideal for recreational trips and, thanks to the redesigned chassis and compact exterior dimensions, provided car-like ride comfort. Schuco is going to produce in a limited edition of 1.000 pieces a miniature model of this VW T4b Caravelle to a scale of 1:18. Just like the other models of the Schuco Edition 1:18, the VW T4 comes with many lovingly crafted details, such as opening and closing doors, a front opening hood and the opening bonnet under which the highly detailed replica of the engine is accommodated.     Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.

VW T2a Bus L, red white, 1:18

€129.95

After 17 years in production, the VW T1 Transporter was getting rather long in the tooth and ever more competitors were trying to secure a place in the lucrative small transporter market. So it was that, in August 1967, Volkswagen 1967 presented the second generation of the VW Transporter, the T2. Compared to its predecessor, the T1, the T2 was a complete and thorough-going new development. With its newly developed 1.6 litre engine, delivering a powerful 47 hp, its revised independent suspension and an elaborate, double-jointed, semi-trailing arm axle, the T2 had extraordinarily docile handling, well able to hold its own with contemporaneous private cars. With its „new face“ - the continuous windscreen, the Volkswagen T2 was able to continue, without interruption, the VW Transporter success story begun in 1950. Schuco is going to produce in a limited edition of 1.000 pieces a miniature model of this VW T2a bus L to a scale of 1:18. The models of the Schuco Edition 1:18 have numerous elaborate details, such as opening doors and flaps. Opening the engine compartment reveals a detailed scale representation of the 1.6-litre engine.    Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.

Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Speedster, rot, 1:87

€9.95

In its “Original shape” at the beginning of the 1960’s and designed by the oldest son of Ferry Porsche, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, known as “Buzzi”, the 911 was introduced to the enthusiastic public in 1963 as the successor to the legendary Porsche 356. The Porsche 911 did not have its first major visual revision until model year 1974. In 1972 the responsible US authorities stipulated in the “Motor Vehicle Information and Cost Savings Act” that new vehicles must not be damaged in the event of a collision of the bumper with an obstruction up to a speed of 5 mph = 8 km/h. In the so-called G model, completely new bumpers with the typical black folding bellows were used to fulfil these requirements. Together with the engine, which had increased to 3,2 litres, and many other technical improvements, the “New eleven” was produced in Zuffenhausen from 1974. Schuco is going to produce a miniature model of this Porsche 911 Carrera 3,2 Speedster to a scale of 1:87. Edition 1:87 models come with a metal body and chassis. A model name which very soon started to have a magical effect on the motor world and all sports car enthusiasts. Schuco is going to produce in a limited edition of 911 pieces a miniature model of this Porsche 911 S Coupé to a scale of 1:18. Just like the other models of the Schuco Edition 1:18, the Porsche 911 S comes with many lovingly crafted details, such as opening and closing doors, a front opening hood and the opening bonnet. A fine miniature version can be found in the engine bay of the air-cooled, 2.4-litre, 6-cylinder boxer engine which produced an impressive 190HP in the original and made the Porsche 911 S, with its maximum speed of 230km/h, one of the fastest sports cars of its time. Since the German arms industry was no longer allowed to develop its own tanks after the end of the Second World War, the German Armed Forces, after its foundation in 1955, initially purchased tank models made in America or Britain. Thus, the American M113, originally designed an armoured personnel carrier (APC), was also purchased in substantial quantities from 1962. It gradually superseded the ageing M39 model. In total, the German Federal Office of Defence Technology and Procurement (BWB) ordered more than 8,000 units of the M113. In its basic configuration, the M113 can float, whereby propulsion occurs in the water by means of its treads. It is also transportable by air and can be air-dropped. The German Armed Forces has deployed the M113 for almost 40 years in 18 different versions. The M113, happily called the “Jaffa crate” due to its construction, offered space for up to 11 soldiers and was gradually superseded by the Marten and the Fox from 1971. IFA RS-01 Pionier, green, 1:32

€99.95

In 1949, the first agricultural tractor to be built in the former East Germany, the Pionier RS01, was presented at the Leipzig Trade Fair. Manufactured from 1949 to 1956, the RS01 was first produced by VEB HORCH Zwickau and later by VEB Schlepperwerk Nordhausen, which had been specially set up for the construction of tractors. The technology of the Pionier RS-01 was largely based on a pre-war tractor developed by the FAMO automobile and engine works in Breslau, where the first vehicles were made in the 1930s under the brand name FAMO XL. The RS-01 Pionier was powered by a 5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with recirculating water cooling. The Pionier was replaced in 1957 by its successor, the RS-01 Harz with various enhanced technical features. Schuco is going to produce a miniature model of this IFA RS-01 Pionier to a scale of 1:32 in the PRO R line. Auto Union Grand Prix racing cars enjoyed great success on the track between 1934 and the start of the Second World War in 1939. These racing cars, planned and designed by Ferdinand Porsche, achieved performance figures that are still pretty respectable to this day. Even back then, the Auto Union Type C reached a top speed of 340 kph with its V16 engine. Furthermore, it proved to be the most successful car of the 1936 Grand Prix season and set no less than 30 world records. The memory of this legendary racing car is now honoured by a Studio II Schuco model in the form of a vintage toy. The kit contains the pre-assambled Studio II along with a tool kit and car jack. This tin model toy of outstanding quality is limited to just 1000 copies worldwide and will prove to be hugely popular thanks to its amazing details and functional parts, such as removable wheels and steerable front axle. Tatra T148 fire engine 1:43

€59.95

First produced in 1968, the Tatra 148 only really took over from its predecessor, the Tatra 138, in 1972, when its production was stopped. The only externally evident difference was the slightly squarer design of the Tatra 148‘s typical rounded bonnet. Technically, the new model was fitted with a more powerful, 210-hp engine and the load capacity could be increased from 12 tonnes for the Tatra 138 to 15 tonnes for the Tatra 148. Like its predecessor, the Tatra 148 was delivered almost exclusively as a three-axle truck with all-wheel drive. Until production was stopped in 1982, a total of 113,647 Tatra 148s in all versions were built, which clearly demonstrates the technical quality and success of this Tatra model.   Warning!
